Our login form requires only an email address, which is also used as a reference against data already supplied by our directors through other means elsewhere. The ability for non-directors to submit personal data through this site is non-existent: it is only available to directors of residential management companies or equivalent who have already signed up to Blue Waters Residential Management Ltd’s services via their contracts.
Sensitive financial data is accessed from other sites but is not held at BWDirectors.com. It is collected as part of the delivery of service as part of Blue Waters Residential Management Ltd’s contractual role as Managing Agent of a development, particularly in fulfilling the requirement to keep accounts and have them audited at year end by accountants, as well as the need to supply directors with their company’s financial information.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Comments can only be made by registered directors, and in most instances are private within the context of a singular board of directors.
Callback requests form submissions collect only the form contents and feed directly into an email sent to Blue Waters’ staff, with no data stored or merged from elsewhere.
No media can be uploaded to this website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
All logins are restricted to directors only.
Blue Waters Residential has no plans to embed content from external sites on BWDirectors.com, but just in case we slip up… Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
If whilst logged in as a director you use functionality which submits meeting attendances, comments, feedback or other process-related interactions, we are likely to feed that data into our other systems, some of which may interact with 3rd-party providers from the following companies and services: Fixflo, Notion, Sage, Natwest, Lloyds, HSBC, Google.
We receive data relevant to logged in directors from Companies House. We receive financial data from the developments’ relevant banking providers. When we take over a company, we receive data from the company’s previous managing agent.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Personal data held with respect to Blue Waters Residential Management Ltd’s role as managing agents is held in line the legal requirements laid out by UK company law.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Website hosting services are provided by DigitalOcean via London-based servers. Seems a long way away from Cornwall. Something to work on… if you’re a server farm based deep in a secret bunker in a disused tin mine with a singular bloke called Denzel who likes to be paid exclusively in Philps pasties, give us a call.
Only one staff member has access to our databases and hosting systems. (He cannot be bought. He cannot be turned. His wife would kill him. It’s not worth it.) All other staff have received training in data protection.
Company computers are kept on-site in a secure alarmed building with CCTV. Network traffic is heavily controlled. AI use is sandboxed away from personal information.
Authentication in order to view documents, even when logged in to BWDirectors.com, requires triple authentication of permissions across three different databases at all times. Changing email addresses needs in-person or over-the-phone corroboration with staff members familiar with the director changing their details. No data access protocols can be changed through another method.
Any level of data breach is reported to the ICO.
Any ongoing data breach is dealt with proactively, with any affected parties informed immediately.
BWDirectors.com uses no analytics. We’re too busy working hard for our customers to worry about how many bots from Uzbekistan are pretending to be living in a Cornish apartment building and want to know how many times Mark has charged for window-cleaning.
Individual property leases may contain additional disclosure clauses: refer to your lease for more details.
For privacy-specific concerns, contact info@bluewatersresidential.com to have it escalated to the correct individual.
